My weekends revolve around food. Scratch that. My life revolves around food. I saw on Facebook that the first birthday of the Big Feed was approaching and decided there was no better time than ever to give it a try.
It was so much bigger than I had expected. Walking round I began to feel overwhelmed. My eyes are bigger than my belly so I needed to be strategic.
First up – Aromatic Duck on Fries with Asian Slaw accompanied with a half pint of Staropramen.
I love the fact that these were served with plenty of duck, rather than a ton of fries with a little sprinkling of duck. I could not fault it.
Next up we all went for burgers from The Buffalo Truck.
I went for the Korean burger which was smothered in gochujang sauce. SPICY. It was delicious although I found the spice a little over powering.
Two dishes in I was already feeling the pinch. But I couldn’t leave without sampling some coffee from Charlie Mills Coffee and baked goods from Summer House Pantry
I ended up taking a cookie dough brownie and a flat white away with me. The flat white was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was so smooth but you could still tell that it was a strong coffee if you know what I mean. However they charge an additional 50p for soy milk and that just doesn’t sit well with me. In the end I didn’t eat my brownie until much later on. I teased myself with a bite at first. It was incredibly rich and sweet. I enjoyed it even more later on when I wasn’t absolutely bursting full of delicious food.
The Big Feed costs £2 and then you just pay for your food at each of the separate vendors. It’s such a fantastic idea and a great way to try lots of different flavours under one roof.
Have you been before? What do you think?
Thanks for reading,
