Last month I decided to start writing up a little “favourites” post each month. After a little more thought I felt that it is probably more of a highlights post rather than favourites. Perhaps I need to think of a completely different name all together? Any ideas? Let me know.
At the beginning of March I went away for a weekend with my work colleagues. It is safe to say that I did not spend a moment hungry! We were well fed with so many delicious home made treats.
Home cooking part 2
Another highlight from March is my friend Emma’s first ever attempt at home made macaroni cheese. When we lived together we would make it together all the time – but I was in charge of the sauce. This time Emma did it all by herself and it was pretty tasty! She also served it up with a side of chickpeas and chorizo which I enjoyed so much I attempted to make it again later on in the month.
Independent and local business
One rainy Wednesday I found myself in the East end on the hunt for some lunch. I decided to visit East Coffee Company. The coffee was so strong it really perked me up, that’s for sure. I ordered the bagel of the day chub was bacon, chilli jam and cream cheese.
In addition to East, I also visited and tried out some other fantastic local and independent business. See my full blog post here all about the new Korean restaurant and bar, Bibimbap. I also really enjoyed my first, and certainly not my last, trip to the Big Feed which also featured in its own full blog post.
That’s all for March. I’m very much aware of the fact that we are almost at the end of April. Hopefully I’ll get my act together soon and get these posts out on time!
I’ve seen lots of new places opening up recently around Glasgow which means my list is growing. Let me in the comments where is on your list to go next!
Thanks for reading,
