My Thursday evening visit to “Western Club Restaurant” in Royal Exchange Square was definitely a changeup to my usual Thursday routine.

Once we had arrived we were shown promptly to our table. We were seated in one corner of the restaurant with huge windows letting the evening light flood in. The table set up was simple yet sophisticated.
We got ourselves comfortable and before we knew it we were being served delicious salmon mousse appetizers, olives and prosecco. We could tell already that the servers were very attentive.
After having just the right amount of time to look at the menu we were asked if we would like to order. I decided to go for the creamed goats cheese to start, followed by fish of the day (salmon) and finally ending with the raspberry and mascarpone creme brulee.
It was obvious that the presentation of the goat’s cheese starter was very well thought out. Colour was added by including a few dollops of what I think was goats cheese with added food colouring or beetroot (I’m really not sure, I forgot to ask but it tasted very similar to the rest of the goat’s cheese). In addition to this, the apple and celery added some texture to the dish.
I then decided to go for the salmon as my main. It was the fish of the day. It was cooked perfectly with blackened skin and served upon a delicious bed of crushed potatoes.
The highlight of the meal had to be the dessert. Raspberry and mascarpone creme brulee. This was certainly the best creme brulee I have ever had. It was perfectly crisp on top but below the surface was a whole load of creamy goodness. The sharpness of the raspberries came through every once in a while adding even more flavour. If you do decide to pop along the Western Club Restaurant you MUST order this!
I had a lovely evening at Western Club Restaurant filled with wonderful food made from good quality ingredients. The dining room is very smart but relaxed, perfect for a catch up with friends or even a special occasion. The staff were all fantastic and couldn’t be more helpful.
